Amb Glover Opens OSCE Election Observor Mission for US General Elections

Distinguished Fellow Ambassador Audrey Glover opened the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe election observor mission office in Washington, DC for the upcoming November 8th general elections in the United States. The international OSCE/ODIHR mission, headed by AMB Glover, comes at the formal invitation of the US Government each election cycle since 2002.

China and US Public Administration Operating Systems

AMB Glover Leads Observor Mission for Mongolia

AMB Audrey Glover led the OSCE/ODIHR's international election observor mission for Mongolia's parliamentary elections. AMB Glover directed the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights from 1994-1997 and has led 11 election observor missions over the past twelve years.

Seufert Leads Mott MacDonald's International Development Services Group

Training at the Hague Academy for Local Governance

Don Seufert served as key expert and discussant at The Hague Academy for Local Governance earlier in November. He led training on fragility, decentralization, and local governance, and applying political economy in fragile contexts. The workshop was sponsored by DeLoG, the Development Partners Network for Decentralization and Local Governance, and included development professionals from an array of donor and implementing agencies from the European Union and UN.

Elections in Albania and Guyana

Dame Audrey Glover co-led the Carter Center's monitoring of Guyana's May 11 elections with President Jimmy Carter and Barbados' Foreign Minister. The following month Dame Glover led the OSCE/ODIHR's observer mission to Albania's June 21 elections.

On Afghan Women

Charlie Ponticelli spoke on June 15th to a California panel entitled "The Situation of Women in Afghanistan: Priorities, Challenges and Possilbities," sponsored by the Santa Barbara Committee on Foreign Relations. Charlie was als cited by Al Jazeera America regarding the status of sugarcane workers in the Dominican Republic.

Global Elections Organization Holds its 6th International Conference

From October 15-17, Dame Glover presented a paper on Fraud and Manipulation in Elections at the 6th Global Elections Organisation Conference on Sustainable Electoral Processes, Strengthened Democracy in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
